Boldy James Is ‘Bo Jackson’ On New Album With The Alchemist

Without a doubt, Griselda is one of the most respected rap collectives in the rap game today. Some could even argue they are The Avengers of rap and rightfully so. The undeniable force that Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, and Conway The Machine hold alone is enough to wipe out just about any group today. Over recent times, the collective has signed a number of acts to make the conglomerate even stronger. One of those individuals goes by the name of Boldy James and he’s been applying some heavy pressure.

As many (hip hop) music enthusiasts should know, The Alchemist is a living legend in the game as a producer and he certainly has the catalog to back it up. Working with some of the most potent artists in the game, Alchemist had been responsible for MANY classic records and projects. Today, the duo joins forces again for their new Bo Jackson album.

From 2013 until now, the progression between Boldy James and The Alchemist has been nothing of epic. Their fourth joint project Bo Jackson shows how the chemistry between rappers and producers can be very vital for all of the right reasons. Following 2019’s Boldface EP and 2020’s The Price of Tea in China, Bo Jackson is the type of project that will age like fine wine — much like all of their past collaborations. Boldy and Alc have just set a new bar for rapper-producer joint projects and it is a beautiful thing to see from the underdog.

In a sit down with Okay Player, the Detroit rapper spoke on making “bland, boring music”: “I’ve always been at this pace, it’s just coming back around for niggas like me, that’s all. The game was turned up, and now it’s coming back around to some real music and artists like me. I make bland, boring music, but if you listen to the content, it’s actually more interesting than you’re giving it credit for because a lot of niggas don’t talk like me.

Equipped with 13 records in total, Boldy James has some stellar features including Benny The Butcher, Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs, Earl Sweatshirt and more!
